JULY 2006 - FESTA DELLA MADONNA DELLE CARCERI

From the 1st to the 9th of the July the town celebrates the Festa of the Madonna delle Carceri, dedicated to one of the three churches in town. Meals are available each night at the sports field under tents and the famous race 'Corsa dei Carretti' is held on July 2nd.

5 teams or 'Contrada' were represented by a theme, with procession before the race. This year a Roman parade, World Cup Football, a TV telephone show etc as examples. There are 18 images of some 400+ that were taken : you can view those here.

LUGLIO 2006 FESTA DELLA MADONNA DELLE CARCERI

Dal 1 -9 luglio, in paese si festeggia la Festa della Madonna delle Carceri, dedicata ad una delle tre chiese nel paese. Si può cenare ogni notte al Campo Sportivo sotto tendoni e il 2 luglio si svolge la famosa ‘Corsa dei Carretti” .

I carretti sono spinti nel centro storico da 5 contrade. Sono rappresentate da un tema, con una processione prima della corsa. Quest’anno abbiamo avuto una processione Romana, il Calcio Coppa Mondiale e una programma TV . Ci sono 400 immagini: abbiamo scelto ne 18 da visionare: si può vedere qui.
